There has been a lot of talk in the church in recent years about identity. Along with the identity focus in teaching and preaching around the world has arisen a cult-like obsession with all things personality. Of course, the popularity of personality assessments is not just within the church, but believers are hungrier than ever to get a grasp of who they are, how they are wired, and where their place is in the world.
I believe that God gives a major revelation of truth to the world during different seasons in history, and in this season God is giving us the gift of understanding identity.
While I do not believe our personality is our identity, and I want to dive further into what identity really is, I am not going to pretend that I enjoy talking about anything else quite as much as personality. One of my greatest joys is being able to sit down with someone and use personality to encourage them and call out the best in them.
As some people look to the stars to become awed by the greatness, glory, and power of God; I study people. As I study people I am amazed at the immense creativity and originality of God as he designed each individual with a beautiful purpose and a revelation of His glory.
